The Big Book of Sex Toys
The Big Book of Sex Toys was an interesting read; it took me just a few days to get through. While the book had no new information for me, as I know quite a bit about sex toys, it was fun to read about all the different kinds of dildos and vibrators.

The book didn't cover as many toys as I had hoped, though, there was an extremely small section for BDSM toys which in my opinion should have been the largest section, as the BDSM community has a vast amount of toys with different uses. The book only really covered the basics in BDSM and non-vanilla sex, such as floggers and riding crops. There wasn't any information on hot wax or nipple clamps. It seems the author didn't do much research in this department. I found that extremely disappointing.

As I said before, I know a lot about toys to begin with, so there wasn't much new information for me in the Big Book of Sex Toys in that department, but it was nice to get a refresher on how to properly clean the toys and take care of them so they will last longer.
Don't get me wrong, this book deserves at least 4/5 stars, It just didn't give me any real new information. The Big Book of Sex Toys is a basic introduction to the sex toy world for a beginner. You will learn about all the different kinds of dildos, vibrators and butt plugs. You will learn how to keep them clean and working and how to properly play with them, as well as a bit on the safety of using some of them. It
is an amazing book if you want to learn more about different ways to reach that wonderful "O" and are new to things.

The book isn't, however, for people such as myself who have experience with different toys and know their uses and the proper hygiene for them. That is not to say that even the most experienced person couldn't learn a thing or two from The Big Book of Sex Toys, it is a great refresher course that can be extremely helpful. I would also recommend getting this book for reference. You might just forget if a certain type of soap isn't good for the material of your butt plug and need a little refresher. That's what this book is great for.
Overall, The Big Book of Sex Toys is a great and entertaining read that is especially helpful for people who are new to sex toys. The book is a definite "coffee table" read with big glossy pictures and a thick hard (insert penis joke here) cover that would look great on a coffee table or book shelf where it can be seen as a type of "novelty item." If the author writes a sequel to this book focusing on the BDSM and hardcore toys out there I will be over joyed, it would be even better if the author were to go into a bit of the history of the different toys as well.
